St. Petersburg State University (SPSU), whose history dates back to 1724, is the oldest higher education institution in Russia. SPSU is one of the 4 universities that have been participating in the preparation of the ТРКИ exam since 1995. By Order No. 130 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated 22 February 2018, SPSU was included in the list of educational institutions that conduct the state exam for Russian as a foreign language and issue a state-recognized certificate.
Since 2020, the SEC has been collaborating with Saint Petersburg State University (SPDU) by using the experience of SPDU on the following areas:
- Expertise and improvement of testing and measurement materials used in the final exams of SEC (9th and 11th grades) in the "Russian language" subject;
- Improvement of mechanisms for assessing the knowledge and skills of applicants in the subject of Russian as a foreign language;
- Conduct of ТРКИ exams in Azerbaijan;
- Trainings to improve the qualifications of teachers teaching in Russian sections of Azerbaijani schools;
- Increase of interest in knowledge competitions and events related to the Russian language
Within the framework of cooperation with SPDU, the SEC has obtained a license to conduct the ТРКИ exams in Azerbaijan for candidates wishing to certify their Russian language skills. The ТРКИ exam test centers operate in more than 30 leading countries of the world such as Great Britain, Germany, France, China, Korea, Japan, Turkey, etc. The centers of the ТРКИ exams operate in a number of leading countries of Europe and Asia (). It should be noted that the SEC is the only test center in Azerbaijan offering the ТРКИ exams.
