Yunus Emre Institute
Launched in 2009, Yunus Emre Institute has 63 cultural centers abroad. In addition to the Turkish language lessons given at the Cultural Center, the faculties of Turkic studies and Turkish language teaching enjoy the support through the educational institutions in various countries. Cultural centers organize numerous activities to promote Turkish culture and art, and represent Turkey at the national or international events. Yunus Emre Institute is an institution that develops and implements the TYS (Turkish Proficiency Exam), the exam which is prepared on the basis of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring the foreign students to be exempt from Turkish language preparatory courses at Turkish universities and combining numerous advantages in itself.
In 2020, the collaboration between the State Examination Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Yunus Emre Institute of the Republic of Turkey was formalized by the protocol signed by the heads of the said institutions. The goal of the mutual collaboration is the creation of textbooks, online teaching and examination platform for teaching Azerbaijani to foreigners, the realization of works to make Azerbaijani language exam as a foreign language exam, at the same time, the introduction of the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS) in Azerbaijan, and the provision of technical infrastructure to ensure the reliable and secure conduct of this exam.
