On June 1, 2026, a meeting was held at the State Examination Center with representatives of one of the leading assessment organizations of the United Kingdom - “AQA Global Assessment Services”, who were on a business trip to Baku.
The meeting was attended by Maleyka Abbaszade, Chairperson of the Board of the State Examination Center, Sean Crowley, Director of International Sales and Marketing of “AQA Global Assessment Services” and the delegation led by her, as well as the heads of relevant structural divisions of the State Examination Center.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held around the proposals submitted by “AQA Global Assessment Services” towards conducting a comparative analysis of the entrance exams to higher education institutions conducted by the State Examination Center and the international “A-Level” exams. In addition to a comparative analysis of the content of the exams, including cognitive load, assessed knowledge and skills, and types of test tasks, the parties also discussed the possibilities of conducting pilot exams using tasks from both examination systems.
During the meeting, the issues of improving the quality of the evaluation process, deeper study of international experience, improvement of evaluation tools and opportunities for applying modern methods in this field, as well as the implementation of joint scientific research projects in the field of evaluation between the two institutions and future directions of cooperation were discussed.
