The 26th annual conference of the European Association for Educational Assessment – Europe (AEA-Europe) was held in the Kingdom of the Netherlands on November 5–8, 2025. The State Examination Center (SEC) was represented at the conference by Rahman Mehraliyev, Head of the Test Bank Department, Narmin Abdurahmanova, Head of the Strategic Research and Projects Unit, and Shukufa Mirzayeva, Leading advisor of the Statistical Research and Scientific Design Department.
The conference was dedicated to the topic “Positive Impact of the Formation of the Future Assessment Environment on Learning” and was of particular importance in terms of sharing international experience in the field of educational assessment, discussing new approaches, presenting scientific articles, and strengthening global partnerships.
Various workshops were held on the first day of the conference. These sessions discussed topical topics such as innovative approaches to assessment systems, the application of digital technologies, and the integration of artificial intelligence into the assessment process.
In the following days, scientific articles on educational assessment were presented, and experts from different countries presented their research results and exchanged views on assessment policies, methodologies, and application practices. Discussions were also held within the discussion groups on issues such as strengthening international cooperation, quality assurance in assessment, and the application of innovative assessment models.
During the conference, N. Abdurahmanova presented her scientific articles on “The effectiveness of using open-ended tasks in mass examinations” and Sh. Mirzayeva presented her scientific articles on “The impact of different types of tasks on the results of applicants in entrance exams,” bringing the experience of the SEC in this field to the attention of the conference participants.
At the end of the conference, concluding remarks were presented, and the participants made recommendations on future directions of cooperation and the application of global trends in educational assessment.
