The meeting was attended by the staff of the SEC, including the head of the Strategic Development Department, Vali Huseyn, the delegation of Yunus Emre Institute consisting of specialists in teaching Turkish to foreigners and Turkish Proficiency Exam (Türkçe Yeterlik Sınavı, TYS®) experts, as well as the director of Yunus Emre Institute Representation in Baku Selcuk Karakilic and other associates.
The main purposes of the meeting were to identify the steps and tasks to be taken to establish the test of Azerbaijani as a foreign language and to create a platform for teaching the Azerbaijani language to foreigners, as well as to discuss the dates of the next the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS®) in Azerbaijan and other organizational matters.
During the online meeting, there was an exchange of views, associates of Yunus Emre Institute shared their experiences on the establishment of the Turkish Proficiency Exam and learning platform.
Recall that the cooperation between the SEC and Yunus Emre Institute was formalized in the protocol signed by the directors of the institutions on November 25, 2020. In accordance with the protocol, the SEC launches mutual cooperation opportunities with Yunus Emre Institute for the presentation of the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS®) to the Azerbaijani society, creation of technical infrastructure for the exams to be conducted accurately and safely, as well as preparation of textbooks and development of online instruction and exam platform for teaching the Azerbaijani language to foreigners, at the same time, the realization of the test of Azerbaijani as a foreign language.
