The State Examination Center (SEC) conducted the 2nd stage of the residency admission exam on August 9, 2026.
For the first time, this exam was organized electronically at the SEC Electronic Examination Building in Baku and at Secondary School No. 4 in Nakhchivan City. Candidates were able to view their results immediately upon completing the exam or when the allotted time expired. The results will also be uploaded to the SEC website.
Out of 996 candidates expected to participate in the exam, 5 did not attend. A total of 827 candidates met the competition requirements (scoring 50 or higher on specialty subjects) and were admitted to the specialty selection stage.
Specialty selection for admission to residency will take place from August 12 to 16. Candidates who met the competition criteria must log into their electronic applications during this period to select and confirm the relevant specialties based on their basic higher medical education (corresponding to the faculty they graduated from) from the "Specialties for Residency Admission" section published in the 3rd issue of the "Residency" journal.
Please note that the 3rd issue of the "Residency" journal also includes instructions for selecting and confirming specialties in the "Candidate’s Electronic Application," a sample of the specialty selection form, as well as the specialties open for residency admission and their allocated seats.
Those wishing to appeal the exam results can submit a written application in person with their ID cards at the main administrative building of the SEC (299 Acad. H. Aliyev Ave., Baku) or at its regional branches on August 11–12, between 10:00 and 17:00.
