Today, ALTE has 33 full members representing 26 European languages, as well as more than 90 associate members around the world, several individual expert members and partners. ALTE is a non-profit organization and enjoys the participating status as NGO under the Council of Europe. ALTE is an association of language test providers working together to promote fair and accurate assessment of language skills in Europe and beyond. ALTE organizes courses and conferences on aspects of language assessment and manages a quality audit system for language exams.
The State Examination Center has been an institutional partner of ALTE since January 2019. SEC is the first institution from Azerbaijan to be accepted to the Association. The main goal of the collaboration with ALTE is to engage in the exchange of experience in foreign language assessment and to improve the quality of exams by maintaining impartiality and accuracy in the establishment of assessment tools. As part of the collaboration, SEC representatives participated in the 53rd annual conference of ALTE on “Multilingual Access to Education” and a one-day professional development course entitled “Raters and Rating” in Ghent, Belgium, on 24-26 April 2019.
