On November 7, 2025, Fidan Novruzova, consultant of the Psychometric Diagnostics of Talent and Enlightenment unit of the State Examination Center, conducted an online training on the topic “The Role of Active Listening and Empathy in Communication” for employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the training, the participants were closely acquainted with the principles of professional communication, the stages of active listening, and the application of empathy in the work environment. The concept of “active listening” and its role in communication were studied using practical methods such as open questions, reflection, and the 3D method. Then, interactive explanations and situational analyses were conducted on the topics of “What is empathy?”, “Empathy and sympathy”, and “Types of empathy”. The advantages of empathy in the work environment, the impact of empathetic leadership on employee relations, and the possibilities of its application based on real examples were discussed.
Interesting facts and group tasks were presented on the topics of “Professional communication” and “Communication principles”. Participants assessed their listening styles through a survey, and the differences between the various “Listening Types” were explained with practical examples.
