Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Examination Centre Maleyka Abbaszadeh received Samr Shah, head of the British Council in Azerbaijan, who has resigned in connection with his new appointment and will leave the country in the coming days.
Samr Shah praised the work done by the SEC to develop education and human resources in the country, and noted that the British Council pays special importance to cooperation with the SEC.
Maleyka Abbaszadeh said that the cooperation between the SEC and the British Council was further strengthened and developed in new directions under the leadership of Samr Shah.
The sides discussed prospects for future cooperation, as well as issues covered at the fourth session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on economic cooperation.
It should be noted that the business relationship between the British Council and the State Examination Center began on September 23, 2016 with the signing of a Letter of Intent to promote cooperation in the field of education and the English language.
The British Council was one of the official partners of the 45th Annual International Conference of the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) on "Assessment and Decision-making: Individual and Institutional Solutions" held by the SEC on 22-27 September 2019.
