On 24-29 July 2022, in Batumi, Georgia, the next training was held within the II "Professional civil service and vocational education and training" (VET) project regarding the Public Administration Reform with the participation of the Eastern Partnership countries, jointly organized by the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Regional Fund for Public Administration Reforms and GIZ (German International Cooperation) Regional Fund.
The head of the SEC Unit of Strategic Development Vali Huseyn and the head of the sub-unit on Legal support, work with civil service policy and state strategy Elnur Abbasov attended the third training course of the project on “Management and leadership for regional leadership group in the civil service of EaP countries”.
The training course was conducted by Hans Joachim Reger, the director of DBB Academy, the leading trade union organization in the civil service and private service sector in Germany. The training covered the presentations on the following competencies specific to senior managers:
· Communication and leadership;
· Organization;
· Enhancement of human resources;
· Self-management and self-determination;
· Change management and progress of organization;
· Development of strategies and integrativeness.
The regional project is aimed at enhancing and making a practical support to the modern teaching approaches through a regular mutual exchange of practice in public sector in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The project has been launched in January 2022 and is planned to continue until October 2024. Various trainings are included in this two-year regional project. The project covers three 5-day long trainings with 6 training modules.
Several institutions of Azerbaijan participate in the project:
· The State Examination Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
· the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
· The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
To note that, the first in-person training within the project was held on 10-15 May, the second training on 6-10 June, and online round table on 24 June.
