According to the agreement, ACCA's activities in Azerbaijan will be supported by ACCA Turkey Office from March 2021. On March 25, 2021, Vali Huseyn, the head of the Strategic Development department of the SEC, and Fidan Mammadova, chief specialist of the department, met with Filiz Demiroz, the head of the Turkish Branch of ACCA, and other officials. The meeting discussed areas of cooperation between the SEC and ACCA Turkey Regional Center, and initially agreed on the following issues:
1. Further improvement of “Professional Accountant Certificate” exams conducted by the SEC and their adaptation with the relevant ACCA exams;
2. Adaptation and recognition of curricula and internal semester exams in finance and auditing in higher education institutions to ACCA teaching and assessment standards;
3. Organization of joint events to raise awareness of ACCA exams among students majoring in finance and auditing in higher education institutions.
The cooperation with ACCA Turkey Office will ensure faster and more efficient implementation of the issues arising from the action plan, as well as increase the preparation of university graduates for the new "Professional Accountant Certificate" exams conducted by the SEC.
It should be noted that the SEC has been operating as an official ACCA testing center since August 2020. For more information on the activities of the test center, please visit: http://dim.gov.az/activities/exams/acca/
